During the two years I worked for Ooligan Press and pursued my MA in Book Publishing, I had the opportunity to work on marketing campaigns and projects, flex my social media skills, and even design some book covers. This experience showed me how often marketing and design intersect in the publishing world.

Social Media
These are some of the posts I wrote during my first year with Ooligan Press. The Twitter posts were written to promote Ooligan titles during Small Press Week. The Facebook post promoted an audiobook giveaway of At the Waterline.
Book Marketing Campaign Materials
For a book marketing class project, I wrote and designed marketing materials for Upside Down in the Yukon River, a self-published memoir by author Steve Cannon. Some of the materials I made included a tip sheet; one sheet; email campaign copy; social media and ad campaign copy; advertising budget; author tour details; and a press release. This project was made for in-class purposes only.
Cover Design
While working for Ooligan Press, I had the privilege of designing the cover for The Gifts We Keep, a literary fiction novel set in Oregon and written by Katie Grindeland. I created it using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.

Instagram Ad
In November 2018, I created a paid Instagram advertisement for Ooligan Press's nineties-era young adult novel The Ocean in My Ears. The ad ran during the 2018 Portland Book Festival. I laid out props, took photo, and edited the photo in Adobe Photoshop.
